As Igor Tyurin, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Committee on Agro-Industrial Complex and Rural Development, said during the online conference “IA NTA-Privolzhye”, agricultural producers of the Nizhny Novgorod Region are actively carrying out spring sowing work.
The planned spring sowing area is 570.1 thousand hectares.
The soil is being prepared for spring sowing. Work continues to fertilize winter crops and perennial grasses and harrow the plowed land.
In municipalities, most agricultural producers have begun spring sowing.
Seeds of spring grain crops, fiber flax, soybeans, rapeseed, sunflower and potatoes are available in full. They deliver corn and sugar beet seeds.
The need for mineral fertilizers for the spring sowing campaign is 40.9 thousand tons of active substance. Taking into account carryover balances, the supply for spring field work is 100% of the requirement.
Let us remind you that in total, more than 1 million hectares are planned to be sown with various crops in the Nizhny Novgorod region for the current year’s harvest.
According to the Minister of Agriculture and Food Resources of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Nikolai Denisov, farmers sow seeds of wheat, barley, oats, peas, mustard, oilseed flax and grass to feed livestock.
“This year, spring crops will be sown on an area of 570 thousand hectares. Most of the sown area – 60 percent – is allocated for grains and legumes, the rest will be occupied by potatoes, vegetables, sugar beets, oilseeds and fodder crops,” Nikolai Denisov noted.
Currently, sowing work is carried out in 17 municipalities of the region, including Arzamas, Bogorodsky, Vadsky, Dalnekonstantinovsky, Knyagininsky, Kstovsky, Pavlovsky, Sosnovsky, Ardatovsky, Voznesensky, Lukoyanovsky, Pilninsky, Pochinkovsky, Sergachsky, Sechenovsky, Shatkovsky and Gorodetsky districts.
