In Kaliningrad they intend to prosecute a traffic police inspector who agreed not to seize the car for 20 thousand rubles. The press service of the regional court reported this on Thursday, April 25.

On October 26, 2023, a traffic police officer noticed a wanted car near one of the houses on Kalinin Square – the man driving it fled the scene of the accident. To avoid administrative fees, the man offered the inspector a bribe. He agreed without taking measures to detain the vehicle. On October 29, a traffic police officer received the agreed amount of money from the driver.

A criminal case was initiated under Part 3 of Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Receipt by an official personally of a bribe in the form of money for illegal inaction in favor of the bribe-giver”). The issue of scheduling a hearing is being decided.
