The Moscow region “United Russia” monitors the progress of repair work on the military memorial in the working village of Fosforitny in the Voskresensk urban district, said the regional coordinator of the federal party project “Historical Memory”, deputy of the Moscow Regional Duma Vladimir Vshivtsev

He noted that in the Moscow region, United Russia closely monitors the condition of monuments and places of Glory dedicated to the feat of the Soviet people during the Great Patriotic War.

“My colleagues and I personally visit places of military glory and monitor the improvement. In addition, we carefully monitor information in the media and social networks about possible violations or damage to memorial sites, obelisks and military graves. Local residents are certainly more aware of issues and we respond promptly to them. We promptly contacted the secretary of the local branch of United Russia, Alexei Malkin, and are already seeing the result. Today, work began on restoring the obelisk and the progress of the work will be under our control until its completion,” said Vladimir Vshivtsev.

Earlier, residents of Voskresensk posted photographs of damage to the monument’s cladding on social networks. The footage clearly shows the destruction of the pedestal on which the monument to the heroes is installed.

“In total, there are more than 3 thousand memorials, obelisks and memorial sites in the Moscow region. Before the main patriotic holiday – Victory Day, each of them, where previously agreed upon landscaping work is not taking place, must be put in order,” added Vladimir Vshivtsev.

Earlier, Governor of the Moscow Region Andrei Vorobyov noted that work to ensure cleanliness in the Moscow region will continue.

“I really hope that in every city, in every locality, our residents will be careful about cleanliness. And everything related to public utilities, of course, this work is being carried out by us, and will continue to be implemented, again in a technological mode,” said Vorobiev.
