Deputies are concerned about a landfill near the Tula region

On Thursday, April 25, the 60th meeting of the Tula Regional Duma was held. During the discussion, the issue of a landfill was raised, which could pose danger and harm to residents of the region.

Deputy Chairman of the Regional Duma Alexander Balberov pointed out the existing problem. He noted that we are talking about the largest solid waste landfill in Russia today, which is located in the Moscow region and borders on the territory of the Tula region.

“The height of the landfill exceeds 48 meters. When the wind blows, not only the smell, but also garbage flies into the territory of the Tula region. The M-6 federal highway runs nearby. This threatens the lives of citizens. “Maybe it’s worth involving the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Russian Federation, Tatyana Moskalkova?” the parliamentarian emphasized.

The Commissioner for Human Rights in the Tula Region, Tatyana Larina, agreed with the problem and promised to organize a working meeting to consider the issue in more detail.

“I propose to organize interaction with the government of the Moscow region, with the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Moscow Region, and, if necessary, involve the Commissioner of Russia. Let’s have a work meeting. I’m ready to get involved and resolve the issue,” Larina said.
