The selection committee has completed the evaluation of applications received for the 1st All-Russian “Lipetsk Pitching of Film Projects”. Based on the results of her work, 21 participants were allowed to defend their projects in person, including 9 from Moscow and another 9 from Lipetsk. The list of finalists has already been published on the competition website.

In total, 250 film scripts from 58 Russian cities were submitted for pitching in the “Fiction Film” and “Documentary Film” categories. They were evaluated according to several criteria, including the relevance and uniqueness of the creative concept, the quality of the script material, and the reasonableness of the planned costs for the project. On May 13, the finalists will present their film projects at an in-person defense, which will take place in Lipetsk at the site of the city youth center. They will be judged by experts in the field of cinematography. Among them are People’s Artist of the Russian Federation, member of the European Film Academy Vladimir Khotinenko, editor-in-chief of the STV film company Alexander Arkhipov, as well as film and television producer, co-founder of the Glavkino film and television studio Ilya Bachurin.

“The decision to hold a full-time defense in Lipetsk is not accidental. Based on the results of the finals, the winners will receive support for the implementation of their film projects in the Lipetsk region, a region rich in unique natural and historical sites. I would like to note that everyone will be able to “touch” the creative projects of the contestants during their defense,” said Anton Savkin, general director of Lipetsk Film Project Pitching.

The winners of the Pitching will receive technical, informational, legal and organizational assistance in the implementation of film projects, as well as financial support from the organizers and partners of the competition. The prize fund in the Fiction Film category is 1 million rubles, in the Documentary Film category – 500 thousand rubles. The winners will be given 11 months to shoot their films, and in May 2025 their works will be presented at a reporting screening in Lipetsk.

“Holding such events in the Lipetsk region opens up additional opportunities for discovering new talents among residents of the region. Such events attract the attention of guests of our region to its beauty, history and achievements. Lipetsk land is hospitable, I’m sure it will inspire authors to create new interesting projects,” notes Governor of the Lipetsk Region Igor Artamonov.

The first all-Russian “Lipetsk Film Project Pitching” is held with the support of the “Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives”, the Department of Culture and Art of the Lipetsk Region, the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Lipetsk Administration, as well as the Lipetsk regional branch of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia.
