Rostov region, April 25, 2024. DON24.RU. In Rostov, the number of accidents due to poor-quality road surfaces has increased. The statistics were shared by Denis Bondarenko, deputy head of the Rostov State Traffic Safety Inspectorate, at the press conference “The state of the road network in Rostov-on-Don.”
“If we take the statistics on the number of road accidents, then for this quarter of 2024, 37 facts of road accidents were recorded, where people reported and filed an accident. If you look at last year’s statistics, there were only 10 such facts. Accordingly, the growth is visible,” he said.
According to Denis Bondarenko, traffic police officers regularly identify deficiencies in the road surface. Based on all facts, preventive measures are taken and warnings are issued to the owner.
“We also introduce ideas about eliminating the causes and conditions accompanying the commission of road accidents, etc.,” he said.
He added that the highway department and the city administration comply with the requirements in 100% of situations, because in case of refusal to comply, appropriate measures are taken.
