The OCCNT project will introduce Lipetsk residents to wedding traditions and rituals

The ethnocultural project of the Regional Center for Culture, Folk Art and Cinema “Wedding Karagod in the Family Year” won the competition for grants from the Russian Cultural Foundation. From August 9 to 11, 2024, many exciting events on the theme of folk wedding customs will be held in OCCNT and villages of the Lipetsk District. The program includes: a display of reconstructed traditional wedding rituals, concert performances, master classes and master shows on traditional trades and crafts, a presentation of traditional wedding dishes, an exhibition of photographs and wedding costumes. There will also be a scientific conference with the participation of representatives of Russian regions on the issue of preserving and popularizing traditional wedding rituals.

“Initiatives implemented within the framework of the national project “Culture” in the Lipetsk region are aimed at strengthening not only Russian identity, but also spiritual and moral values,” noted Governor of the Lipetsk region Igor Artamonov.
