According to Nikolai Mamonov, director of the Municipal Budgetary Institution SMEU, this season the roads of 353 streets with a total volume of 202 thousand square meters will be marked. Of these, thermoplastic markings will be applied to more than 92 thousand square meters, and paint will be applied to over 47 thousand square meters. meters and about 63 thousand square meters. m will be marked with plastic under warranty.

The work will be divided into several stages. First, they will begin marking the roadway on main roads, then work will continue near social facilities, after which they will begin marking secondary roads.

It is noted that thermoplastic is highly wear-resistant, resistant to temperature changes and weather influences.
According to the contractor, crews began work as soon as weather conditions permitted. Currently, new markings have already appeared on the streets of Minin, Varvarskaya, Bolshaya Pokrovskaya, Akademika Sakharov, Nizhne-Volzhskaya embankment, Blagoveshchenskaya Square, and Pokhvalinsky Congress. The contractor carries out all work at night.

The issue of using thermoplastic for marking pedestrian crossings near social facilities was raised at the Nizhny Novgorod Road Safety Commission. This initiative was supported by Mayor Yuri Shalabaev, so this year such markings will be applied to almost all pedestrian crossings near kindergartens and schools.

It was previously reported that thermoplastic markings will appear on 281 street in Nizhny Novgorod in 2024.

It was also reported that in total in the Nizhny Novgorod region in 2023, markings were applied to 7.4 thousand km of roads.
