“Until June 27 inclusive,” the Leninsky District Court of Voronezh did not change the temporary place of residence of the former head of the internal migration department of the regional headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Sergei Chervontsev, and the former deputy head of the department for investigating crimes in the Leninsky district of the investigative department of the city Ministry of Internal Affairs, Pavel Shestakov. For the next two months, former colleagues will still remain in pre-trial detention. By that time, Chervontsev will have spent a total of exactly one year in the detention center: he has been there since May 30, 2023. Shestakov is still in the “new settlement”: he was placed under arrest on December 29 – that is, by the end of June he will be six months old.

“An ICR investigator with the support of the prosecutor applied for an extension of the period of detention for ex-policemen,” the press service of the court said. “At the same time, the accused and their lawyers expressed disagreement and asked to choose a more lenient measure of restraint.

Both asked to go home, yes. Chervontsev was even ready to give money to the state: to post a bail for his person in the amount of “the minimum fine under the article charged to him” (as they explained to me in court). Sergei Petrovich’s article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, part three, is about receiving a bribe by an official for illegal actions (inaction). The minimum fine for it is 500 thousand rubles. You can also go to a colony for up to three to eight years.

Let me remind you of the version of the investigation: Sergei Chervontsev, while in uniform in the chair of the head of the internal migration department of the regional headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, for a fee, distributed permits to foreigners for temporary stay in Russia without legal grounds. He held the honorary position for seven years, until at the end of May 2023 they came for him from the regional FSB Directorate. The total amount of the “reward” received has not yet been announced.

As for Pavel Shestakov, according to the Investigative Committee, for one and a half million rubles, he promised a certain citizen, who was facing an article of fraud, to “assist” – so that a criminal case would not be initiated against the citizen. Considering that the ex-policeman served as deputy head of an entire district investigative department, he was quite capable of “resolving” such issues. He became famous for the fact that during a special operation, the FSB accepted a package with a bribe, in which only 50 thousand rubles were real, and the remaining 1 million 450 thousand were “dolls”. On charges of receiving a bribe on an especially large scale (Part 6 of Article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) from a former captain of justice, he will be sentenced from 8 to 15 years in prison in the future.
