Where to park your car during the holidays?
Some parking lots in Moscow will become free, while others will continue to charge a fee for use. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin in his Telegram channel spoke about where and on what basis Muscovites will be able to park during the upcoming May holidays and weekends.
“During the May holidays, parking in Moscow will be free,” the mayor promised. But he immediately added that this rule applies to all streets, but not all dates. Free parking on the streets of Moscow will be on April 29, 30, May 1, 9, 10 and 11.
“On May 12, you will have to pay for parking only on streets with tariffs of 380 and 450 rubles per hour,” the mayor added. Also, parking lots with a barrier will operate as usual on all listed dates.
Which streets will be blocked in Moscow during the May holidays?
Traffic will traditionally be blocked on some of the capital’s streets at the end of April and beginning of May. So which highways on the map of Moscow will become inaccessible to motorists?
According to the Department of Transport, on April 26, as well as on May 2 and 5, a number of streets in the Central and South-Eastern Administrative Districts will be temporarily closed to cars. These restrictions are associated with rehearsals for the Victory Parade.
Traffic will be blocked in sections of Volgogradsky Prospect, Garden Ring, Taganskaya Square:

April 26 and May 2 – from 16:30 to 19:00,

May 5 – from 05:00 to 08:00.
The following traffic restrictions are also expected on some central embankments and streets:

April 26 and May 2 – from 17:30 until the end of the event,
-
May 5 – from 05:30 until the end of the event.
On the same days, traffic will be closed again:

April 26, May 2 – from 23:30 and May 5 – from 10:00 on sections of the Garden Ring, Volgogradsky Prospekt,
-
April 26, May 2 – from 22:30 until the end of the event on the Garden Ring, New Arbat Street, and the Bolshoy Kamenny Bridge.
Also, two-way traffic will be organized in the Taganskaya Square area:

from 16:30 April 26 to 03:00 April 27,
-
from 16:30 on May 2 to 03:00 on May 3,
-
May 5 – from 05:00 to 13:00.
In addition, on all of the listed streets, embankments and sections of roads, it will be impossible not only to drive, but to park cars from April 25 to 27, as well as from May 1 to 9.
