The annual St. George’s Ribbon campaign has started in Russia. This year it takes place for the twentieth time. More than 30 thousand Victory volunteers will distribute orange and black ribbons on the streets. Symbol of courage and perseverance of the Heroes of the Great Patriotic War.

Lipetsk also joined the action. In the morning, volunteers handed out ribbons on Zegel Street. And from 17:00 – in Victory Park. The promotion will last until May 9. During this time, almost 50 thousand St. George ribbons will be distributed to Lipsk residents.

“Today is the start of the all-Russian action “St. George’s Ribbon”. Such events will take place in all cities and towns of the Lipetsk region. We show that from today we are preparing for the Great Victory Day,” emphasizes Larisa Boeva, curator of the St. George’s Ribbon event in the Lipetsk region.

“We distribute ribbons to awaken in adults a sense of pride, a sense of respect for their ancestors. And we do all this with pride and dignity,” volunteer Sofia Popadyina told Lipetsk Time.
