A historic house on Staro-Petergofsky Avenue in the Admiralteysky district of St. Petersburg has received a second life.

The building was built back in 1917 and belonged to the merchants Durdin. The last reconstruction here was carried out in 1957, then the front building and the courtyard wing were built to five floors.

The house is currently undergoing major renovations: the contractor is selecting the color of the walls in the hallways and front doors. At the same time, finishing work is underway in the apartments.

The house is designed for 160 apartments, most of which are one-room apartments. They will have full finishing and plumbing. Those on the city’s waiting list can purchase apartments in a building on Staro-Petergofsky Prospekt under the Affordable Housing program. They will make a down payment of 10% and receive interest-free installments for 20 years.

Meanwhile, the list of those who can participate in the preferential program has been expanded.

“Firstly, these are young families under 35 years of age, public sector workers: education, culture, healthcare, youth affairs institutions. And employees of IT companies that have passed state accreditation, and employees of the military-industrial complex,” the St. Petersburg TV channel quotes. Director of the St. Petersburg Center for Affordable Housing Denis Zubarev.

The distribution of apartments will begin in August, by which time the landscaping of the courtyard will be completely completed, and the façade of the building will be decorated with artistic lighting.
