According to the press service of the Transport Committee, inspectors performed over 336,150 checks on more than 480 routes of buses, trolleybuses and trams.
Reports of the identified violations were drawn up against the free riders. Each of them will pay a fine of 500 rubles.
Comtrans added that today there are more than 900 controllers working on ground transport routes. They have a branded uniform, and also have a service ID, a hand controller, a personal video recorder and a task order for the current day.
St. Petersburg residents were also reminded that inspectors do not have the right to ask a passenger to pay a fine for traveling without a ticket on the spot.
