In Ulyanovsk, the memory of graduates of the Higher Military Engineering School of Communications will be immortalized.
According to the resolution of the city administration, it is planned to install a memorial sign at house No. 19 on Tukhachevsky Street, where the Interregional Training Center for Signal Corps is currently located.
It is also planned to rename the tram stop “Ulitsa Tukhachevskogo” to “School of Communications”.
“This year marks the 72nd anniversary of the deployment of the Higher Military Engineering School of Communications in Ulyanovsk. During this time, over 25 thousand officers serving in Russia and abroad were trained, most of the graduates were awarded high state awards, seven were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union, one – Hero of Russia,” recalls the press service of the Ulyanovsk administration.
