25th of April. Interfax-Russia.ru – Modernized tax conditions, providing for a more equitable distribution of the burden on taxpayers, must be fixed for a long time, said Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“Another important step to improve the investment climate should be the adjustment of the tax system. Now the government, together with business and public associations, constituent entities of the Russian Federation and the parliament, are working on this important issue. They are discussing the parameters of changes and preparing appropriate proposals. I repeat – the updated tax conditions need to be fixed on long term,” he said, speaking at the congress of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.
The head of state noted that the modernization of the fiscal system should ensure a more equitable distribution of the tax burden, while stimulating businesses that are developing and investing, including in infrastructure, social and personnel projects. “We need to ensure stable and predictable conditions for reliable, confident business operation,” he said.
Earlier on Thursday, Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said that it is planned to discuss specific proposals to change the tax system in mid-May, so that parliament could consider the relevant bills already in the spring session.
