Today, April 25, at about 14:00, near house No. 32 on Ordzhonikidze Street in Tver, a 9-year-old boy was hit by a timber truck. A Mercedes truck, driven by a 50-year-old driver, did not have time to brake in front of a child walking along an unregulated pedestrian crossing.
The young Tver resident walked from right to left in the direction of traffic. He was injured and was hospitalized at the Children’s Regional Hospital.
“When approaching an unregulated pedestrian crossing, the driver must slow down and be extremely careful, and if necessary, stop in order to let pedestrians on the roadway pass, giving them the opportunity to safely complete the road crossing; do not be distracted by talking on the phone or with your friends. passengers,” noted Sergei Maksimikhin, head of the department of the State Traffic Inspectorate for Tver, in a commentary.
