Chairman of the Culture Committee Fyodor Boltin commented on the information about the fireworks in honor of Victory Day. According to him, the authorities of St. Petersburg did not plan to hold fireworks displays.

“There is a difference between fireworks and fireworks. The salute is a statutory event that is carried out by the Mikhailovsky Artillery Academy. We are not authorized to comment here, since the decision is made by the Ministry of Defense. We are not planning any fireworks,” Boltin clarified at a TASS press conference.

The Coordination Council for Veterans Affairs previously discussed the plan for celebrating May 9. Governor Alexander Beglov noted that the fireworks will take place.
