State Transport Leasing Company JSC (STLC) transferred to Komiaviatrans JSC a new domestic Mi-8MTV-1 helicopter produced by the Kazan Helicopter Plant of the Russian Helicopters holding company (part of the Rostec state corporation), reports the press service of the head of Komi.

The delivery was made on April 23 as part of the preferential leasing program for domestically produced aircraft. The new helicopter will serve the Territorial Center for Disaster Medicine of the Komi Republic, and will also be used for transport services to remote areas of the region.

The Komi Republic and the regional air carrier actively cooperate with State Transport Leasing Company. Let us recall that on March 11, in Kazan, with the participation of the head of the Komi Republic, Vladimir Uyb, a solemn ceremony was held to transfer two new Mi-8MTV-1 helicopters to Komiaviatrans JSC for financial lease within the framework of the state program of preferential air transport leasing. Both aircraft have already arrived in the region, the third aircraft will arrive in the coming days after the completion of the acceptance procedure.

For the Komi Republic, a modern and reliable helicopter fleet is vital – the region’s territory is almost twice the size of Great Britain, and there are many settlements that can only be reached by air.

Multi-purpose Mi-8MTV-1 helicopters have unique flight, technical and operational characteristics and can be used in almost any climatic conditions. “Eights” can perform a wide range of aviation work, including transportation of cargo, passengers, sanitary evacuation, fire fighting, construction and installation work, search and rescue operations and many others.
