In St. Petersburg on April 24, the results of the Russian National Prize “Harlequin” were summed up and the winners were awarded. The jury, chaired by playwright and screenwriter Mikhail Bartenev, artistic director of the Samara Sketch Theater, named Eugene Onegin directed by Murat Abulkatinov at the Krasnoyarsk Theater for Young Spectators as the best performance. The laureate theater received a diploma and a silver Harlequin figurine (author – St. Petersburg artist-jeweler Andrei Ananov) and a million rubles to stage a new play for children and teenagers. The same production was awarded for the best work of a director and choreographer.

Other laureates include performances that were created in St. Petersburg. Thus, Daria Lazareva, whose “Diary of a Swallow” is shown at the Bolshoi Puppet Theater, was awarded for the best work as a production designer.

Philip Borodin, who starred in the play “Einstein,” was awarded for Best Actor. What is shining for us? theater Karlsson Haus. The playwright of this play, Natasha Slashcheva, was also awarded the prize. And the production itself additionally received the Audience Award.

Andrei Bundin, who worked on “Ruslan and Lyudmila” at the Alexandrinsky Theater, was awarded for the best musical design of the play.

A special jury award “Experiment”, which encourages the search for new expressive means of modern theater for children and teenagers, was awarded to Dmitry Krestyankin’s performance “The Red Lantern”, presented at the Museum of Theater and Musical Art. The director also received a critics’ award.

And for the originality of the artistic solution, the creative team of the play “Sasha, don’t be afraid!” was awarded a special prize. A-THEATRA (director – Sergei Azaev).

The honorary prize “For great service to the theater for children” was awarded to the chief conductor of the Zazerkalye theater Pavel Bubelnikov.
