The Lipetsk region has become one of the leaders in the Central Federal District in terms of total fertility rate

First Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Russia Olga Batalina at the all-Russian conference “Russia is a big family of big families. Large families as a new norm” named the Lipetsk region the leader of the Central Federal District in terms of total fertility rate. It amounted to 2.5%. The Tula and Kostroma regions are also in the top three. The overall fertility rate in the Central Federal District is 0.2%.

“It’s nice to name the leaders of demographic growth. Let it be 0.2% – what is important here is not the value, but the fact that we are changing the situation in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation step by step. There is not a single subject today in which it would be impossible to find solutions to reverse this trend,” said the deputy minister.
