Districts of the Omsk region this year have prepared events for the opening of the tourist season, at which they will present the capabilities of municipalities, the press service of the regional Ministry of Culture reported. This contributes to achieving the goals of the national project “Tourism and Hospitality Industry”.
The Bolsherechensky district, which is visited by tens of thousands of tourists every year, will open the season on May 11 and 12. The only rural zoo in the Russian Federation will present a special program for guests. The Old Russian folk spring festival of nature renewal, “Red Hill,” will be held at the “Ancient Siberian” museum complex. According to surviving signs and beliefs, it was popularly considered one of the best days of the year. Street celebrations, games, and spring round dances took place on the first Sunday after Easter.
In the north of the Omsk region in the Muromtsevo district, which is also called the land of five lakes, the presentation will take place on May 17. According to local legends, these lakes are craters from the fall of a huge meteorite and are connected by an underground river. Anyone who bathes in all five will gain eternal youth. But so far no one has found the fifth, Hidden Lake.
