The Orel Writers’ Square is located in the very center of Oryol – between the City Administration and the Children’s Park, near the monument to Ivan Bunin. The work was carried out at the expense of the philanthropist – the Orelmaslo JSC plant.
The tiled area contains three types of benches: three regular, seven radius and three with a canopy, as well as three trash cans, three illuminated swings, 13 lighting poles and two street lamps.
In the heart of the square, the names of the writers of the Oryol region are immortalized on a bas-relief and an exact architectural copy of the center of the regional capital is recreated, which allows you to see the sights of our city in miniature.
In the summer of 2021, Orel was given the official status of “Literary Capital of Russia”. This has opened up new opportunities for enhancing the tourist attractiveness of Orel and the Oryol region as a whole, the administration’s press service reports.
