Nizhny Novgorod theatres, museums, libraries, art schools and creative groups will take part in the Days of Nizhny Novgorod in Bukhara. The start of the event was announced on social networks by the head of the city, Yuri Shalabaev.
According to the head of the city department of culture Svetlana Gulyaeva, in Uzbekistan the capital of the Volga region will be represented by the chamber choir “Nizhny Novgorod”, the musical theater named after V.T. Stepanova, the folk song ensemble “Lyubava”, the Gorky Museum, the model library named after and teachers of the Children’s Art School. Mayor Yuri Shalabaev instructed the residents of the twin city to introduce Nizhny Novgorod culture.
“We are bringing to Bukhara a carefully selected program and groups that are well known not only in the city, but also far beyond its borders. In addition, in such meetings, mutual exchange is extremely important: experience, ideas, creative developments, and we are glad that we will have the opportunity to communicate with colleagues,” noted Svetlana Gulyaeva.
The Lyubava ensemble and the Nizhny Novgorod choir will perform at the opening ceremony, which will take place on Shakhristan Square. The first group will perform folk songs, including “Nizhny Novgorod Dance” and “Vetluzh Ditties”. The second is the works of Balakirev, Sivukhin and Fertelmeister.
Artists of the Stepanov Theater will show the musical comedy “Woman’s Riot” (12+) and the musical “Truffaldino” (12+) in Russian. Together with the troupe, almost three tons of scenery, props and costumes arrived in Bukhara.
The exhibition, prepared by employees of the Gorky Museum, will be presented at the Bukhara Regional Theater of Musical Drama and Comedy. She will talk about the life of the famous Nizhny Novgorod writer. An important element of the exhibition will be a virtual walk through Gorky’s museum-apartment and a retro recording of his speech at the first All-Union Congress of Soviet Writers in 1934.
In addition, a dialogue with representatives of the library community will be held at the Abu Ali ibn Sina regional library. For colleagues from Bukhara, Nizhny Novgorod residents have prepared a series of educational events “Reading Nizhny”.
In turn, teachers from Nizhny Novgorod Children’s Art Schools will conduct master classes in arts and crafts, choreography and vocals for residents of the sister city.
Earlier, Yuri Shalabaev said that the city continues to develop relations with Central Asia, where interest in Russia is higher than ever. The Days of Nizhny Novgorod in Bukhara start on April 26.
“I’ll definitely tell you and show you,” the mayor promised.
