Kurgan residents became winners of the final stage of the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren in mathematics | 04/25/2024 | Mound

Young Kurgan residents – Stepan Karpov, a ninth-grader from gymnasium No. 27, and Kirill Yatchenko, a 10th-grader from gymnasium No. 30 – became winners of the final stage of the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren in mathematics, held in Nizhny Novgorod.

It should be noted that during the final stage of the Olympiad, over 2 competitive rounds, young mathematicians competed in solving non-standard problems in algebra, geometry, combinatorics, and probability theory. 473 schoolchildren from 80 regions of Russia and a team of 6 schoolchildren from the People’s Republic of China took part in the final competitions. The Kurgan region was represented by a delegation of 4 children – students of educational institutions in the city of Kurgan. Let us note that all our delegates are students of the mathematical circle of the Kurgan Center for Additional Mathematical Education.

Let us remind you that the All-Russian Mathematics Olympiad for schoolchildren consists of four stages: school, municipal, regional and final. Winners and prize-winners of the Olympiad receive diplomas, which for four years entitle their holders to enroll in educational programs corresponding to the profile of the Olympiad at prestigious Russian universities without entrance examinations.

The All-Russian Mathematics Olympiad is traditionally one of the largest and most prestigious events for schoolchildren in Russia. This year the competition is being held for the 50th anniversary.
