At the concert in the City Palace of Culture, familiar and beloved songs were performed, which became the golden fund of music and history of the great people.

“Initially, our competition was like a connection between generations. Young people and veterans met. But then little by little we began to increase the age range. It feels like the festival has become stronger. Today’s concert is dedicated to Victory Day. We invited people so they could look at the history of preserving the literary and musical heritage of Soviet-Russian music and literature”– said Natalya Paramonova, leading manager for cultural and mass leisure at the City Palace of Culture of Vologda.

The competition is held for the 19th time in two categories: “Artistic Word” and “Vocal”. Participants were selected for the gala concert in three stages.

“My parents told me about the competition. I agreed to participate and thought for a long time about what verse I would recite and decided to perform “The Ballad of a Mother.” I chose this work because I think it is more connected with the terrible events that took place during the war. The first rehearsals were difficult for me, sometimes I couldn’t hold back tears from emotions, but thanks to my rehearsals, now I am confident that I will perform without trembling in my voice.”– said Vladislava Saikina, a student of grade 4B at school No. 26, winner of the second degree in the category “Artistic Word”.

26 numbers were included in the gala concert “Salute, Victory!” Participants included children and adults from 7 to 65 years old.

“I really like participating in competitions in the “Artistic Word” category. Today I am speaking with “Monologue about War”. I will talk on behalf of the girl about how the war is the worst time in the history of the country, about how scary and terrible it is. I think that the war and the exploits of the heroes need to be remembered, because they went through a lot of suffering and difficulties in those terrible years. Our sacred duty is to remember the heroes,” – said Polina Vereshchagina, a student of class 5A of school No. 1 in the city of Vologda, winner of the first degree in the category “Artistic Word”.
