In St. Petersburg, in the first quarter of 2024, an increase in air and rail transport was recorded. It amounted to 12%, the Transport Committee reported.

Thus, more than 2.2 million people were transported from St. Petersburg by long-distance trains. This is almost 300 thousand more than in the first quarter of 2023.

Over 13.8 million passengers were transported by suburban trains. This is 11.3% more than in the same period last year (12.3 million people).

In terms of air transportation, Pulkovo Airport is the fourth airport in Russia by the number of passengers served. In the first quarter of 2024, the airport served about 4.2 million passengers, which is 8% higher than the figure for the same period in 2023.
