650 million rubles will be spent on developing the infrastructure of Tula universities and supporting scientists

Today, April 25, at an extended meeting of the Tula Regional Duma, the First Deputy Governor – Chairman of the regional government, Vyacheslav Fedorishchev, reported on innovation activities in the region.

Among the key areas of development of the region is the formation of a strong scientific and educational segment and the training of highly qualified personnel. To achieve this, regional measures of state support for scientific activities are strengthened annually and federal development instruments are involved.

One of these measures is a regional state program for the period until 2026 with a budget of 650 million rubles. These funds will be used, first of all, to develop the infrastructure of universities in the region and support young scientists.

The world-class scientific and educational center “TulaTECH” operates successfully. Now it unites 14 scientific and educational organizations and 26 enterprises of the real sector of the economy. 26 scientific and technological projects are being implemented, 9 have already been approved or put into production.

At the end of 2023, on the basis of Tula State University, in partnership with JSC NPO “High-Precision Complexes” (KBP named after Academician A.G. Shipunov), the Tula Engineering School was created, which will train specialists for the defense industry not only of the region, but of the entire country.

Work is currently underway to create an inter-university defense campus.
