From April 24 to 26, Almaty hosts the Kazakhstan International Tourism and Travel Exhibition KITF-2024, which is recognized as the largest professional tourism event in Central Asia.
St. Petersburg is represented by a large-scale exhibition, where specialists from leading tour operators, hotels and business sites talk about the offers of our city, the press service of the Committee for Tourism Development said.
The city’s stand presents not only programs with visits to classic and new attractions, but also the opportunities of the business tourism industry of St. Petersburg, including the main convention and exhibition centers, accommodation places, food outlets and much more.
The exposition became a center of attraction and business activity, and the organizers of KITF-2024 noted the participation of St. Petersburg with a special award – “Choice of the Year”.
The Convention Bureau held negotiations on cooperation with representatives of the tourism industry of Central and Southeast Asian countries, including Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, and Vietnam. Foreign colleagues expressed interest in developing cooperation with the hospitality industry of the Russian Federation in general and St. Petersburg in particular.
The exhibition serves as an effective platform for strengthening interregional and international industry ties. More than 5,000 tourism business professionals from all over the world meet here every year.
The development of the tourism industry in St. Petersburg is carried out within the framework of the national project “Tourism and Hospitality Industry,” which envisages an increase in the export of tourism services in Russia to 22.3 billion US dollars and an increase in foreign tourist flows to 16 million people by 2030.
It was previously reported that hotel construction and reconstruction projects will bring 3,500 new rooms to St. Petersburg.
