Last Saturday there was a fire in the Trusovsky district of Astrakhan. Let us remind you that a residential building on Krestyanskaya Street, 26 caught fire.

The cause of the fire was carelessness when preparing food. The fire area is 42 sq.m. An 83-year-old woman was in the house at the time of the fire. However, a man saved her in time. This happened before the fire and rescue units arrived.

“The fire happened in a neighboring house, my daughter told me about it. We knew that a pensioner lived there and without thinking twice I ran to help,” said Nikolai Konakov, a caring rescuer.

Nikolai climbed over the fence and found himself in the courtyard of a residential building. Inside the living quarters, he tried to call out to the woman, but she responded unintelligibly. Following the sounds, the Astrakhan resident found the victim in a chair in the kitchen. At this moment, the flames had already engulfed the ceiling of the room. Nikolai picked up the Astrakhan woman and carried her out of the house. Then the woman was hospitalized at the AMOKB.

The press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations noted that elderly people are most defenseless against fire. Elderly people require increased attention and care, so if possible, the older generation should not be left unattended.
