Since April 26, 2024, the Belgorod State Literary Museum has been hosting the exhibition “It All Started with Pushkin,” timed to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the museum’s founding and dedicated to the 225th anniversary of the birth of A. S. Pushkin.

The exposition of the exhibition “It all started with Pushkin” consisted of the most unique materials from the collections of the Belgorod State Literary Museum. The exhibition is equipped with an audio guide, thanks to which each visitor will hear 25 original stories about the exhibits.

The vernissage will be held on April 26 at 16:00 in the format of an open excursion around the exhibition.

The opening of the literary museum on April 26, 1999 became one of the most important events in the Belgorod region dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of the great Russian poet. The fact that the museum is associated with the name of the great Russian poet by the date of its birth is emphasized in the title of the exhibition.

No matter how wide the range of tasks that the museum faces today, no matter how diverse its activities, the museum will always be distinguished by its heart – the museum funds. They predetermine the main task for all times: to collect and preserve cultural heritage.

Currently, the collection of the literary museum includes more than 21 thousand items and is replenished annually. Among the most unique are the archives of the famous aeronaut and cinematographer Nikolai Dmitrievich Anoshchenko, bibliologist and bibliographer Ignatiy Vladislavovich Vladislavlev (Gulbinsky), journalist and writer Arnold Ilyich Gessen, Belgorod writers, members of the Union of Writers of the USSR.

There are extensive collections of rare books and graphics, photographs and philocarts, letters and manuscripts. The museum stores cultural values ​​of federal significance.

The museum is working on collecting, preserving cultural values, and restoring them. Thanks to cooperation with the Kostroma branch of the All-Russian Art Research and Restoration Center named after Academician I. E. Grabar, twenty-eight cultural monuments acquired their original appearance, many of them memorial.
