Igor Kobzev: over the next five years it is necessary to significantly improve the appearance of Irkutsk

On April 25, Governor of the Irkutsk Region Igor Kobzev spoke at the report of the Mayor of Irkutsk Ruslan Bolotov on the results of 2023. The head of the region outlined the key points in the development of the regional center, reports the press service of the government of the Irkutsk region.

Igor Kobzev:
“It’s gratifying to see that the regional center is developing and promising directions have been outlined. The city administration is implementing landmark projects that are important not only for Irkutsk itself, but also for the region as a whole. Their implementation requires interaction between city authorities not only with the regional Government, but also with federal authorities. We work as a single team, in close contact with Ruslan Nikolaevich and his colleagues. I can assure you that we, for our part, are ready for further comprehensive cooperation with the administration of the city of Irkutsk.

The governor noted that residents of Irkutsk have a request for more significant changes in the city: over the next five years, it is necessary to significantly improve the appearance of the city, turning it into a powerful center of business and cultural attraction for all residents of the country.

Igor Kobzev:
— In my opinion, the integrated development of territories is of great importance. It is necessary to move away from infill development. For example, housing is now being actively built on the territory of IVATU, but we must not forget about the construction of social infrastructure. These are related issues, and it is our responsibility to avoid distortions when residents of new microdistricts do not know which school to send their children to. As Vladimir Vladimirovich noted, the main thing is the satisfaction of our people, and not the reported kilometers of roads and meters of housing. This should be a priority direction of urban planning policy, not only in Irkutsk, but also in other municipalities of the region.

According to the head of the region, a striking example of such comprehensive development of the territory could be the installation of a heat ray in the suburb of Rabochy. At the initiative of the regional government, an infrastructure budget loan in the amount of 4.8 billion rubles was received for the implementation of the project. This will make it possible to completely update the communal infrastructure of one of the oldest districts of Irkutsk, transfer the heat load to the Novo-Irkutsk Thermal Power Plant, while eliminating small coal and fuel oil boiler houses. In this way, a favorable environmental effect will be achieved. In addition, work on the resettlement of dilapidated and dilapidated housing will be accelerated and the opportunity will be created for the construction of modern housing in an amount of almost 1.5 million square meters.
