On April 4, the fire season began in the region. Since that moment, employees of the regional fire service, subordinate to the Life Safety Department, have already made over 70 trips to extinguish landscape fires in 19 districts of the region and the Gagarinsky district of Saratov. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
“The most common cause of landscape fires is violation of fire safety rules and careless handling of fire in nature. When burning grass or garbage, citizens do not take into account that the wind turns an ordinary fire into an uncontrollable flame in a matter of minutes. Landscape fires spread very quickly and create large smoke zones, which is no less dangerous to life than the fire itself,” said Yuri Yurin, head of the regional life safety department.
Increased vigilance and awareness should be shown by the management and employees of children’s recreation and health organizations, owners of gardening farms and residents of those settlements that are included in the list of those most exposed to the threat of landscape and other natural fires. The corresponding list was approved by the Governor of the region, Roman Busargin, on April 4.
The head of the region set the task of local governments in these territories to strengthen fire safety measures aimed at reducing the risk of fire spread, and information work with citizens.
