What is known about the bribe
The equivalent of a bribe from the now ex-deputy minister could be more than 1 billion rubles, law enforcement agencies told TASS.
Preliminarily, we are talking about a bribe not in the usual sense, but about “material benefits and services of large contractors.”
The military official took bribes not with money, but with gratuitous construction and restoration of real estate belonging to him, according to Kommersant.
According to Mash, Ivanov probably lived in the main house of the Volkonskaya city estate – von Mecca in Chisty Lane, which was built in the early 1820s. It is believed that the Master from Bulgakov’s novel was “settled” in the basement of this particular mansion.
According to Baza, Ivanov could use expensive services from large contracting companies, including paid sea flights and hotel accommodations.
The ex-deputy minister himself denies any guilt in accepting a bribe, the defense previously reported. According to the lawyer, in Ivanov’s case there was no transfer of a bribe, and money did not appear as the subject of a bribe.
Persons involved in the case
A capital businessman, one of the founders of a large counterparty Olympsitistroy, gave incriminating evidence against Ivanov, a TASS source reported.
The company’s activity is the construction of residential and non-residential buildings.
“The essence of the charges in the criminal case is that Ivanov and Borodin are, as it were, recipients, that is, those who received the benefits and bribes imputed to them by the investigation from such large contractors as this businessman,” the agency quotes the interlocutor.
Let us remind you that Sergei Borodin is a close friend of Ivanov and the second defendant in the case of receiving a bribe on an especially large scale.
According to investigators, Ivanov received kickbacks from the entrepreneur in exchange for more profitable contracts through the electronic bidding system.
As it became known on April 25, the Basmanny Court of Moscow sent the third person involved in the case of a bribe on an especially large scale, Alexander Fomin, under arrest for two months.

“The investigation believes that Fomin, being in a relationship of trust with Ivanov, acting as part of an organized group, provided assistance to T.V. Ivanov, S.V. Borodin. and other persons for property services in the form of exemption from the obligation to pay for goods, work and services related to the repair/reconstruction of buildings,” reports the press service of the courts of general jurisdiction of the city of Moscow.
Where is Timur Ivanov being held?
Timur Ivanov is in the Lefortovo quarantine cell and has no complaints about the conditions of detention. The Moscow Public Monitoring Commission reported this to TASS.
According to information from Nikolai Zuev, first deputy chairman of the Moscow Public Monitoring Committee, Ivanov has no cellmates. The cell itself is clean, equipped with everything necessary, including a refrigerator and TV, bedding and hygiene items, and there is always drinking water.
On the very first day, the arrested man was visited by a local doctor. Preliminarily, the ex-deputy minister has no history of chronic diseases.
For dinner he was fed a set dinner with fish.
Today, April 25, Ivanov is scheduled to undergo tests and talk with a psychologist. He will draw up a psychological portrait and evaluate the preconditions for suicide or destructive behavior.
Ivanov himself assesses his moral state as stable. According to POC member Damir Enaev, he is “holding on.”
