The Governor of the Ryazan Region was shown the Fort stand at the Healthy Independence 2.0 exhibition

Governor of the Ryazan region Pavel Malkov visited the exhibition stand of the biopharmaceutical company Fort (part of the Nacimbio holding of the Rostec state corporation) at the opening of the exhibition-forum “Healthy Independence 2.0”. Director of the production complex Veniamin Potashnikov, during a conversation with the head of the region, noted the achievements of the enterprise, spoke about current work and plans for the future.

– Among the main tasks is to facilitate the transition from trivalent influenza vaccines to quadrivalent ones within the framework of the National Preventive Vaccination Calendar. According to research, such vaccines can prevent an additional number of cases of the disease associated with the circulation of another strain of the influenza B virus. Our quadrivalent vaccine Ultrix Quadri has been available to the population within the framework of the Calendar for five years, and our capabilities allow us to increase the share of this drug in the nationwide seasonal flu campaigns. Thus, since the drug was launched on the market, we have tripled the volume of vaccine production – to 14.7 million doses per year,” Potashnikov told the governor.

The biopharmaceutical company Fort is the largest manufacturer of influenza vaccines in Russia. All drugs of the plant are produced using full-cycle technology in accordance with international GMP quality standards. The flagship product of the enterprise is the drug “Ultrix Quadri”, created by the plant’s scientists. This is the first influenza vaccine in Russia that complies with the recommendations of the World Health Organization regarding the number of strains and antigen. The drug is indicated for vaccination of children from 6 months of age, pregnant women, adults without age restrictions, as well as people with chronic diseases.

In a conversation with the head of the region, Potashnikov also spoke about the start of the new production season and preparations for the autumn vaccination campaign against influenza. The technical equipment of the enterprise and its own research center allow it to quickly respond to WHO recommendations on updating the strain composition of the vaccine and release effective drugs into civilian circulation.

At the plenary meeting, Malkov separately noted the scale of Fort’s work.

– I have personally been to all the enterprises that are present here and am familiar with their work. I see that there is a serious groundwork and understanding of further development. For example, it is in the Ryazan region that the quadrivalent flu vaccine “Ultrix Quadri” is produced, which is supplied absolutely throughout the country,” the head of the region emphasized.

Fort produces drugs using a full technological cycle using only domestic raw materials, thereby solving strategic problems in the field of healthcare. And the exhibition “Healthy Independence 2.0” is one of the platforms that help in establishing new mutually beneficial partnerships for further work. Participants at the forum include representatives of the medical community, business, government, and scientists from different regions of the country. Among the organizers are the government of the Ryazan region, the Ryazan State Medical University. Pavlova, Business Development Agency of the Ryazan Region, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Ryazan Region.
