On April 25, on the eve of the Fire Protection Day of the Russian Federation, which is celebrated annually on April 30, a presentation of the updated exhibition of the museum of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Vladimir Region took place. The event was attended by the chief federal inspector for the Vladimir region Sergei Mameev, the head of the main department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Vladimir region Alexey Kupin, veterans of the department and representatives of the media.

Since 2012, the departmental museum has been located in the building of fire station No. 3 on Sokolova-Sokolenka Street, 10. The history of its establishment goes back to 1976. It was created with the aim of promoting fire safety rules and popularizing firefighting. Over these decades, the museum has moved several times and been replenished with new exhibits. And so, for the professional holiday of rescuers, for the 375th anniversary of the Russian fire service, the exhibition appeared in an updated form. Repair and exhibition work went on for a whole year.

“I would like to acknowledge the contribution of a huge number of people, fire professionals. They collected historical facts and exhibits bit by bit. Here is presented a significant block of archival work carried out by the head of the center for fire prevention propaganda and public relations, Tatyana Nikolaevna Bobkova. The exhibition reflects all periods of the formation of the region’s fire department. It’s always very interesting here. Over the years, the museum has been visited by more than 400 thousand visitors. And we are ready to continue working in new conditions,” said Alexey Kupin, head of the main department of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Vladimir Region.

According to the head of the center for fire prevention propaganda and public relations, Tatyana Bobkova, in recent years the area of the departmental museum has expanded, and on the eve of the 375th anniversary of the fire department, many stands have been updated. In addition, cosmetic repairs have been carried out.

In the exhibition you can see a model of a horse-drawn barrel train, which before the advent of cars was the main arsenal of the professional fire department, pictures of devastating fires, photos of the first Soviet truck AMO-F-15, Soviet equipment of a fire testing laboratory, modern technology, get acquainted with the entertaining chronology of the formation of the fire department services.

But perhaps the most indelible impression is made by the hall where housing after the fire is presented in a realistic manner. In the center is a mannequin of a deceased person. According to legend, he fell asleep with an unextinguished cigarette. This is a reminder to children and adults of the fatal consequences of violating fire safety rules.

The exhibition even mentions the newspaper “Vladimir Provincial Gazette”, which began publishing in January 1838. At that time it was the first and only periodical publication in our region. In 1839, a column about emergency incidents appeared in the newspaper. For example, one of the publications provides statistics on those who died on the water that year – there were 29 people. This section, like the entire unofficial part of the newspaper, was edited by the famous freethinker and publicist, author of the autobiographical chronicle “The Past and Thoughts,” Alexander Herzen, who was in exile in Vladimir in those years.

According to the head of the center for fire prevention propaganda and public relations, Tatyana Bobkova, the museum is open to everyone. Pre-registration by phone number (4922) 30-11-11.
