Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov discussed with the Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of India to Russia Vinay Kumar the issue of attracting Indian qualified personnel to the Northern capital. This was reported by the St. Petersburg TV channel.

The head of the city raised with the Indian Ambassador to Russia a number of issues that relate to bilateral partnerships – both in the field of digital technologies and education, as well as pharmaceuticals and industry.

In 2023 alone, St. Petersburg and India doubled their trade turnover. The northern capital exported heavy lifting equipment, excavators and military shipbuilding products.

Now the authorities are deciding the issue of opening direct flights between St. Petersburg and New Delhi or Mumbai.

And in June the city on the Neva will host the international festival “St. Petersburg – India”.
