On April 20, 2024, the Chairman of the Irkutsk District Duma, Pyotr Novoseltsev, died suddenly.
Alexey Panko was first elected as a deputy of the Irkutsk District Duma in 2009, and was re-elected in 2014 and 2019. He headed the commission on the charter, regulations, parliamentary activities, information policy and public relations.
Alexey Panko is a combat veteran, awarded the medal “For Military Valor”. Participated in a special military operation, currently helping the military and delivering humanitarian aid.
