One of the important values of our city is the tradition of performing honor guard service at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier on Victory Square. Every year, more than 1,000 young Kaluga residents perform the honor watch, demonstrating a high level of patriotic consciousness and a willingness to pay tribute to fallen heroes. But in addition to the main work that our citizens observe at the Eternal Flame, each guard undergoes training on the basis of the municipal budgetary institution “Youth Center” of the city of Kaluga – a subordinate institution of the department of physical culture, sports and youth policy of the city of Kaluga.
As part of this training, law enforcement officers regularly meet with representatives of the guards, who tell them what corruption is, where it comes from, as well as the reasons for its occurrence and the possibilities of overcoming it. The main goal of the meetings is to increase the legal literacy of police officers in the field of anti-corruption legislation and the formation of an anti-corruption worldview.
These conversations help the guard participants develop skills that will be useful to them in the future, namely, improve their legal culture, formulate beliefs about the inevitability of punishment for corruption offenses, and of course these meetings are an opportunity to meet new people and learn more about their country.
