The trial of an Oryol resident accused of sabotage and treason has begun in the Oryol Regional Court. Oryol News learned about this from its own sources.
We are talking about a 38-year-old man. He was detained by FSB officers in October last year. After his arrest, the Orlovets stated that he acted at the direction of the Ukrainian special services for money. At the time of his arrest, as the media reported, he had managed to at least set fire to a relay cabinet on the Orel-2 – Kromskaya section. Oryol News found out that the man is also charged with another arson of the relay cabinet and the sales office of the Oryol ORTPTS.
In total, Orlovets was charged with three counts of Art. 281 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, as well as Art. 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation – high treason, the punishment for which is from 12 to 20 years in prison.

This is already the second case of treason that is known in the Oryol region after the start of a special military operation in Ukraine. In August 2023, a court on charges under this article arrested a man detained in the Moscow region, who, according to security forces, is an LGBT activist (the LGBT movement in Russia is recognized as extremist and is prohibited).
