In the Nizhny Novgorod region, a verdict was passed in a criminal case of theft of property from a railway organization on a large scale, this was reported in the telegram channel of the Volga Transport Prosecutor’s Office.

In September 2021, an engineer at the Gorky-Sortirovochny Operational Locomotive Depot supervised the dismantling of containers (reservoirs) on the territory of the former Sukhobezvodnoye oil dispensing station.

As a result of the work, scrap ferrous metal weighing over 29 tons was formed, the cost of which amounted to more than 536 thousand rubles.

A depot worker stole scrap metal belonging to Russian Railways OJSC.

The court sentenced the man to a fine of 150 thousand rubles.

In addition, by a court decision, damages commensurate to the value of the stolen property were recovered from the convicted person. To ensure the execution of the court decision, the arrest imposed on the property of the convicted person – a land plot worth 1.4 million rubles – has been preserved.
