A 24-year-old foreigner was planning to distribute more than one hundred grams of methadone in the Tyumen region

Employees of the regional Drug Control Department detained a native of the near Urals in the forest near the village of Lugovoye, Tyumen region. He is suspected of drug distribution.

As established by the investigation, an unemployed young man born in 2000 arrived in Tyumen in March of this year. He acquired large quantities of drugs, divided them into “small wholesale” ones, equipped hiding places, and transmitted information about their location through messengers to future “pawnbrokers.”

On the territory of the regional center, investigators identified three hiding places that were organized by the suspect. In the presence of witnesses, drug control officers discovered and seized 50 packages with a powdery substance from personal belongings and found another 150 packages in hiding places.

Moreover, in the presence of witnesses, in the detainee’s rented apartment, the police found and seized electronic scales and another 100 packages that he hid in his sneakers. As a result, their total number was three hundred pieces with a total weight of more than one hundred grams. The examination determined that the powder was the drug methadone.

The Investigation Department opened a criminal case. The young man was taken into custody. The investigation is ongoing, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Tyumen region reported.
