In Kostroma, a preventive measure was chosen for a violent bus driver who started a fight at one of the city stops. The investigation asked the court to send the suspect of hooliganism to jail for two months. However, the court decided that this was excessive.
“The court considered it necessary to choose a different preventive measure in relation to the suspect in the form of a ban on certain actions, with the establishment of bans on the suspect, taking into account information about his personality and the actual circumstances of the case, to the extent that will correspond to the interests of criminal proceedings for the period – until June 22, 2024 inclusive. During the period of the preventive measure chosen for the suspect, he is obliged to appear promptly when summoned by investigative authorities and to court, not to leave the house at night, not to communicate with the victim and witnesses in the criminal case,” – reports the press service of the regional court.
When making the decision, it was also taken into account that the man confessed and made no attempts to escape from justice.
