The powerful flood of the Volga continues to drown the embankment in Volgograd: video

Not all Volgograd residents were impressed by the sight of the flooded embankment.

The Volga will continue to overflow its banks in Volgograd and beyond. This process is controlled and is associated with the volumes of discharge from the Volzhskaya HPP: they have now reached their maximum. As of today, April 25, the inflow is 23,740 m3/s (+1100), the flow through spillways is 11,020 m3/s (+310), the total flow is 25,600 m3/s.

The normal level of the Volgograd reservoir is 15 meters. Now it is at around 13.28 meters. This is the lowest value for the entire year.

— Above Nikolaevsk, it’s opposite Kamyshin, the water receded so much that all the banks were exposed. All the dirt and debris is visible. And the aroma stands appropriately on the embankment,” says a local resident.
