The heating season in the Ivanovo region will end by May 1, the regional government reports.
“Recommendations have been given to all municipalities; for five days now the average daily temperature has not dropped below 8 degrees; according to the standards, this allows decisions to be made to turn off heat supply in social institutions and residential buildings,” the government press service quotes Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Ivanovo Region Alexander Shabotinsky . According to him, the city of Ivanovo and some other municipalities have already begun this work from today, and in other settlements the heating season will be completed by May 1.
On Thursday, April 25, Alexander Shabotinsky visited kindergarten No. 169 in Ivanovo, which had previously undergone major renovation work as part of a regional program. The deputy chairman visited several groups, a music room and discussed the results of the repairs with the head of the garden. As part of the socially significant regional project “Creating safe living conditions in preschool educational organizations, preschool groups in municipal educational organizations,” in 2022, kindergarten No. 169 underwent a complete overhaul of the roof and replaced wooden window blocks with PVC blocks. The effect of the work carried out was felt by both kindergarten workers and pupils.
“We had a very warm, comfortable, cozy winter this winter. The children wore T-shirts and shorts, their parents did not dress them warmly. We survived the winter wonderfully. And now I would like the heating season to be over. Because now the temperature in the groups is is already above the norm,” the government quotes the director of the kindergarten, Ekaterina Maslova.
As confirmed by the head of the housing and communal services department of the Ivanovo city administration, Ivan Zakharov, the decision to end the heating season in the city was made, and shutdown of heat supply began on April 25. In apartment buildings, management company personnel usually need up to three days to ensure reliable shutdown of internal heat consumption systems while maintaining hot water supply.
Child Development Center – Kindergarten No. 169 has been operating since 1968. There are 12 groups in the kindergarten, of which 10 are general developmental groups and two compensatory groups for children with speech impairments. The institution is attended by 227 students, 26 teachers work.
