In St. Petersburg, in the first quarter of 2024, the popularity of paying for travel with bank cards increased. This was reported by the press service of the St. Petersburg State Institution “Transportation Organizer”.

During this period, 98.7% of passengers paid for travel electronically. 41% came from discounted travel tickets (170 million trips). 39% went to Podorozhnik (161 million), which also accounted for 17 million trips using the 60-minute tariff. 17.2% – travel using bank cards (71 million).

1.5% of the total number of trips were made on discount tickets in the Leningrad region (6.3 million trips) and only 1.3% were paid in cash (5.6 million).

Podorozhnik users save 21 rubles on both ground transport and the metro. In the first three months of 2024, more than 8 thousand people paid with a one-time ticket with a QR code. In the first quarter of 2024, St. Petersburg residents used the “90 minutes” travel ticket 1.3 million times. Its cost is 78 rubles. This is how much it will cost for one trip on the city metro and an unlimited number of trips on ground transport made within 90 minutes.

Earlier, 78.ru wrote that Smolny has developed two projects aimed at increasing the number of citizens entitled to free travel on public transport. Both documents were published on March 12 on the official website of the city government.
