The All-Russian scientific conference brought together scientists from major universities and regional branches of the Russian Academy of Sciences from ten regions in Kurgan, reports the press service of Kurgan State University.

Currently, Kurgan scientists have noticed the need for scientific meetings of a similar format, so they decided to resume the readings.

From September 1, 2025, a local history component will be introduced into school education, so a return to the discussion of issues of regional history and how this regional history is integrated into all-Russian processes is required. The conference is dedicated to the study of the cities of the Urals and Siberia. We will look at how these cities integrated into the 19th and 20th century economies, the culture of these cities, and then discuss how to integrate all of this into educational programs says the director of the KSU Humanitarian Institute, Candidate of Historical Sciences Denis Maslyuzhenko .

Senior Lecturer, Department of History and Documentation Science, KSU Marina Perova and master’s student Anastasia Kargapoltseva study history using literary texts.

In stories and stories Nikolai Glebov , Vasily Elovskikh , Alberta Usoltseva and other authors we find “a portrait of the Trans-Ural land and its inhabitants in the mid-1950-1960s.” Some texts are more like autobiographical notes, personal observations. For a historian this is especially valuable explains Marina Perova .

Scientists are also interested in such a complex topic as the protection of prisoners during the Great Patriotic War. KSU graduate student is also interested in it Artem Volkov .

My article is devoted to the problems of organizing the activities of the penal system in Kurgan during the Second World War. No one has dealt with this topic before; we are pioneers in this matter. I managed to gain access to the archives of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Kurgan region and, in fact, worked with these documents for the first time notes Artem Volkov .
