In Nizhny Novgorod, graffiti with a Lumiere candlestick from the fairy tale “Beauty and the Beast” appeared on the wall of a cultural heritage site (CHO). The work of unknown street artists can be seen on Bolshaya Pokrovskaya Street, reports pravda-nn.ru.
The graffiti artists depicted Lumiere – a candlestick with three candles, one of which went out. The autonomous non-profit organization Asiris recalled that the poet, writer and playwright Anatoly Mariengof lived in this building on Bolshaya Pokrovskaya for about 16 years.
“Perhaps the appearance of street art on the facade of the house was inspired by this fact?” – suggested in Asiris.
The house is currently undergoing roof and façade repairs. The building itself was built in the 19th century and was a complex of apartment buildings for the trading company of Kudryashov and Chesnokov.
