Victory Dictation is an annual international event. Its goal is to attract the general public, especially young people, to study the history of the Great Patriotic War. The educational and patriotic event took place for the first time in 2019 and was timed to coincide with the celebration of the 74th anniversary of Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War. It will be held for the sixth time in 2024.
The Victory Dictation will begin on April 26 at 12:00 by local time. As always, you can write it online on the website dictantpobeda.rf or in person at one of the sites: the list of Vologda institutions is posted at the link. The central venue for the event will traditionally be the Victory Museum on Poklonnaya Hill in Moscow.
Leading historians of the Russian Historical and Russian Military Historical Societies worked on the assignments. This year the questions will be dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the lifting of the siege of Leningrad, the entry of Soviet troops to the borders, the anniversaries of front-line writers and other significant dates.
Before the start of the Victory Dictation, each participant will receive individual sets of materials, including numbered forms with tasks and forms to fill out. Task completion time – 45 minutes. The total time of the event, including the issuance of forms, instructions and collection of work, is 60 minutes. Total you need to complete 25 tasks, including questions about the contribution of Vologda residents to the victory in the Great Patriotic War. Taking the test online is no different from taking the test in person. – the time and number of questions are the same, only the forms are filled out through the promotion website.
The participant receives an individual identification number. It will be possible to check your result on the website dictantpobeda.rf after summing up the results.

The organizers of the event note that in 2024, residents of 58 countries will take part in the Dictation; in 2023, the event took place in 46 countries.
