From April 26 to 28, Ulyanovsk will host the zonal stage of the All-Russian festival-competition of amateur creative groups in the category “Culture is us,” in which creative groups from the Volga and Ural federal districts will take part. The folk brass band of the Karavan District House of Culture of the Orenburg region under the direction of Denis Girgilizhiu will compete for victory in the competition.
The All-Russian festival-competition has been taking place since 2019 and is aimed at the development of amateur art, as well as the preservation and popularization of the intangible ethnocultural heritage of the peoples of Russia. During this period, 1,316 groups from the country took part in it, 100 of which became laureates and received grants for the development of creative activities.
The competition takes place in three stages. Based on the results of the zonal reviews, 20 laureates will be identified who will receive the title of laureate – the owner of grant support in the amount of 2 million rubles. The final stage will take place in Moscow in the form of a gala concert.
The Orenburg Orchestra was selected from 259 ensembles in the country and was among the 60 finalist ensembles selected based on the results of the interregional video tour of the first stage of the All-Russian festival-competition. The performing skills of the participants were assessed by famous cultural and artistic figures, including People’s Artist of the USSR Boris Akimov, People’s Artists of Russia Anatoly Marchevsky and Alexander Tikhonov, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Tamara Purtova and others.
