The Samara region is providing all possible assistance to residents of the neighboring Orenburg region to eliminate the consequences of the flood. Governor Dmitry Azarov announced this during a live television broadcast in the “Main Topic” program, which took place on April 24. He noted that residents of the Samara region were the first to respond to people’s calls for help, many of whom found themselves in difficult life situations due to surging meltwater. In this regard, residents of the 63rd region collected humanitarian aid – clothes, personal hygiene products and food. The House of Friendship of Peoples of the Samara Region and national cultural centers were the first to begin this work. Later, public organizations together with volunteer associations joined them. “Now we are sending humanitarian aid to the Orenburg region – everything that is now needed is coordinated with the regional and municipal authorities,” noted Dmitry Azarov. In addition, at the moment, emergency teams from companies in the Samara region are helping to restore the infrastructure of cities and districts of the Orenburg region. Dmitry Azarov thanked the specialists for not standing aside and helping people return to their normal lives. Also, the Samara region accepted children from the neighboring region affected by the flood. The 100 boys and girls who arrived are placed in camps, where they will continue their education and be able to improve their health. Dmitry Azarov noted that the region is still ready to provide all necessary assistance to residents of the Orenburg region.
